The days of '70s disco, drugs, and hedonism rear their heads in this look back at New York's infamous Studio 54. Myers takes the drama route as druggie club co-owner Steve Rubell, while Phillippe starts off as innocent New Jersey boy Shane O'Shea, who gets a job as a bartender and is soon taking the low road to debauchery. Others hitting the dance floor include pouty soap star Julie (Campbell), coat-check girl/would-be disco diva Anita (Hayek), and her busboy hubby Greg (Meyer). But Shane is a dunce and his story a bore, while the effective Myers takes a decided backseat storywise. Film went through a lot of last-minute re-editing but it didn't seem to help.
