Doctor Who: Battlefield Movie Review 1989

The TARDIS is drawn to Carbury, where a nearby lake hides a an extra-dimensional spaceship containing the body of King Arthur and the sword Excalibur. The evil Mordred and his sorceress mother Morgraine follow noble knight Ancelyn, who's trying to recover Excalibur. And it seems they all recognize the Doctor--who was better known as Merlin in their day.
