Hellblock 13 Movie Review 1997

Anthology of three low-budget short horror tales is told with grainy, raw-edged energy and a distinct regional flavor. Tara (Rochon) writes stories while she's on Death Row and shows them to her stolid guard (Hansen, "Leatherface" from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"). Rochon brings a welcome note of humor to what might have been your basic madwoman stereotype. The individual films get better and funnier as they go along.
