In 19th-century Italy, idealist anarchist Giulio Manieri (Brogi) hopes to inspire the local peasantry through armed raids. Imprisoned for his trouble, Manieri learns upon his release after 10 years that his political struggles have been forgotten and he has to make a difficult adjustment to life on the outside. Based on the Leo Tolstoy story "The Divine and the Human." Italian with subtitles.
