Hardly an original story but this B-movie has a standout performance from the edgy Leary. He's Jack Hanaway, a lounge piano player with a sultry singer/wife, Vicky (Sanchez-Gijon). Jack's old P.I. friend Eddie (Badalucco) shows up with a scheme to make them all rich. He's been hired by a wealthy woman (Dusay) who suspects her husband Fred (Stamp) of infidelity. Fred's faithful (he likes his wife's money) but he's a patron of Jack's and is naturally appreciative of Vicky's charms. So they try to set Fred up. Scenes of would-be writer Jack's pulp novel intrude into the action and provide an unneeded distraction. Adapted from the novel by Jose Pable Feinmann.
