Fast-paced road movie with some unexpected twists. Midori (Kudoh) is a young Japanese woman who is honeymooning in Sydney with new hubby Yukio (Isomura). But Midori fakes her own kidnapping to wait for her lover to arrive (who doesn't show). Yukio and the cops quickly discover her plotting but, in the meantime, Midori's been caught up in the midst of a bank robbery. When the robbery goes wrong, she becomes the quasi-hostage of driver Colin (Crowe), who takes off across Australia, pursued by the cops, his ex-partners, and the humiliated husband who wants revenge. Midori and Colin bond and things get increasingly stranger.
