Fiennes family affair, with Martha assuming directorial duties, brother Magnus providing the score, and Ralph starring as the titular 18th-century Russian aristocrat. The cynical sophisticate inherits a vast country estate in the 1820s, where Onegin befriends his young neighbor Lensky (Stephens) and his featherbrained fiancee, Olga (Headey). But Onegin is intrigued by Olga's older sister, lovely innocent Tatyana (Tyler), though he rejects her impulsive romantic gestures. This isn't the only mistake that Onegin makes--all of which cost him dearly. Film looks beautiful but doesn't have much soul. Based on the Aleksandr Pushkin novel "Eugene Onegin."
