Pippi Longstocking Movie Review 1997

The adventures of "the strongest girl in the world" are chronicled in this musical animated tale voiced in part by ex-SCTV alums Catherine O'Hara and Dave Thomas. After her sea captain father is washed overboard, Pippi returns to the town of Villa Villekulla to wait for him. In the meantime, she sets up house with a monkey named Mr. Nilsson and a horse named Horse. She makes friends with the kids next door, who help her outwit the town busybody Mrs. Prysselius and two criminals who want to steal her chest of gold coins. Not much here for adults, but the post-toddler set should approve.
