Definitely poorer. Don't pity the Amish because they can't defend themselves against movies like this--envy them because they don't have to see it. Shallow New York real-estate hustler Brad (Allen) is supposed to be divorcing socialite wife Caroline (Alley). Their inept accountant (Knight), however, has cooked the books, causing them to head for the Pennsylvania hills. They hide out with a community of Amish people, rediscovering their love along with a bunch of manure jokes. Proves once again the inherent unfunniness of butter churns and barn raisings.
