Big city girl Marcy (Garofalo) heads to a wee quaint Ireland burgh where she finds love and humanity amid the beer-guzzling, blarney-slinging locals. Jaded aide to a politico spin doctor (Leary), Marcy is there to track down some McGlory's, the Irish relatives of an American senator, in order to help his re-election campaign but hits town during the annual matchmaking festival and becomes the target of Irish marriage broker O'Shea. O'Hara is Sean, Marcy's laconic and appealing local suitor. Entertaining enough, with Garofalo and O'Hara more than filling the bill in a romantic comedy that heavily flirts with cliche. Sweeping vistas and a soundtrack appropriately filled with Irish favorites, old and new. Filmed in the village of Roundstone, Ireland.
