Disillusioned Paul Lamott (Esposito) is a corrections officer at the King's County House of Detention in Brooklyn. Nevertheless, Paul, who's earning a law degree, is moved by the pleas of Haitian prisoner Jean Baptiste (de Bankole), who swears he's been wrongly accused of rape. Paul, who's father was Haitian, manages to help Jean make bail and then invites him home--to the strong dismay of Paul's teacher wife Angela (Taylor). However, Angela begins warming to Jean's charm--but beware the stranger.
