North Shore Fish is a failing Massachusetts fish-packing factory with various cynical managers and employees, including divorcee Flo (Ruehl), who's just found out she's pregnant by her married boss Sal (Danza); 60ish Arlyne (Baker), who regards her co-workers as family; and Josie (Schwimmer), whose husband has left her for a younger woman. It's on this one day that they realize how uncertain all their futures are. Based on the play by Israel Horovitz.
