Political satire falls apart at the end but until then manages to provide some dark comedy. In the near future, Idaho Governor Farley (Bridges) closes his state's borders to a planeload of refugee children from a Pakistan-India nuclear war. The President (Hartman), who wants to look tough, gives Farley 72 hours to change his mind and the media, led by executive producer Mel Burgess (Hedaya), goes into a typical frenzy.
