After some 30 years, Caine returns to his role as intelligence agent Harry Palmer. Forced into retirement, Harry finds himself privately recruited by Russian businessman Alex (Gambon) to retrieve a stolen chemical weapon being transported on a train headed for China. Harry gets a little local help from Nicolai and Natasha (Connery and Sara) but treachery is all around. Follows "The Ipcress File," "Funeral in Berlin," and "Billion Dollar Brain"; based on the novel by Len Deighton.
