In "Humbug" Scully and Mulder have several bizarre murders to investigate in a town populated by former circus and sideshow acts. With "Anasazi," a hacker breaks into the Defense Department's computer system and discovers files on UFOs, which have been encrypted into Navaho. This leads Scully to New Mexico and Native American code talker Albert Hosteen (Westerman) and also puts the Cigarette Smoking Man (Davis) on red alert. Meanwhile, Mulder's father (Donat) tries to tell his son about his secret work but is killed by Krycek (Lea) and when Mulder follows Scully to New Mexico he discovers a hidden boxcar filled with what appear to be alien corpses. Followed by "The Blessing Way."
