Strange fantasy follows magician Celine (Berto) and her librarian friend, Julie (Labourier). Celine sometimes works as a governess for a little girl who lives with her widowed father in a possibly haunted house. Two women are in love with the father but he'd promised his wife never to remarry as long as their invalid daughter was still alive. Celine and Julie become worried for the little girl and decide to rescue her. An adaptation of the Henry James story "A Romance of Certain Old Clothes." French with subtitles.
