Conniving Horace Pope (Lynch) gets his mate Pedlar Pascoe (Connery) to join the Royal Air Force with him during WWII. Horace sets up a number of rackets but, despite their larcency, they become unintentional heroes. Based on the novel "Stop at a Winner" by R.F. Delderfield.
