Armored Trooper VOTOMS, Stage 1: Uoodo City, Vol. 1 Movie Review 1983

When armored trooper pilot Chirico Cuvie is transferred to a new unit, he doesn't know he's embarking on a traitorous mission that will cause him to be pursued by his own military. His superior fighting skills allow him to escape, but he's haunted by the sight of a beautiful woman, the ultimate weapon, a Perfect Soldier. These first three episodes "War's End," "Uoodo," and "The Encounter" set up an epic series featuring plenty of mecha combat. Interwoven among the battles are stories of friendship and love as well as the mystery of the Perfect Soldier. This series is divided into stages that follow the settings of Chirico's adventures which makes viewing more manageable. The first stage introduces the viewer to the lawless Uoodo City as well as the main characters in the saga to come. There are four stages in all. The Uoodo City stage contains five volumes.
