TV drama follows the lives of three Native American families living in a working-class section of northern California's Santa Rosa. Widowed Mollie (Tousey) and her three kids have just moved to Grand Avenue, discovering that her one-time boyfriend, teacher-activist Steven (Martinez), lives nearby with his wife and son. Meanwhile, Mollie's cousin Anna (Gago) has her own troubles caring for a cancer-stricken daughter. Sprawling storylines, lots of crises. Based on a book of short stories by Sarris, who also wrote the script.
