Since Q (de Lancie) was there to cause trouble in the first series episode, it seems only fitting that he's up to his usual tricks in the finale. A spatial anomaly has Picard time-traveling between past, present, and future with the very fate of humanity resting on his shoulders--and Q around to tell him that everyone's doomed.
