Larger Than Life Movie Review 1996

The pitch for this movie (Murray takes an elephant on a cross-country trip) must have sounded terrific. Unfortunately, the pitch was fouled off. Murray is his usual smarmy self as cut-rate motivational speaker Jack Corcoran, who inherits the pachyderm and a pile of bills after his circus clown father dies. Following the "road movie" formula, he encounters wacky characters along the way, including a speed-freak trucker (McConaughey), a sexy animal trainer (Fiorentino) and a strait-laced zookeeper (Garofalo). In a piece of brilliant casting, Tai, the star of "Operation Dumbo Drop" appears as...the elephant.
