In the year 2053 the American government has gone to absurd lengths to ensure equality. Mediocrity is championed and everyone is forced to wear metallic headbands that stifle intellect through electronic impulses. Too bad for Harrison Bergeron (Astin), a smart young man being punished for his intelligence. But there's a secret undeground elite offering Harrison the chance to think freely, though this power comes with a price. Adapted from Vonnegut's 1961 short story.
