The Bharvad Predicament Movie Review 1987

Outlines the causes of the conflict between the local, landholding farmers and the Bharvad cattle herdsmen in Dhrangadhra, located in northern India. Illustrates how the region is in a particularly dry season and the main battle is over the use of land and water. Also explains how the farmers appear to have the support of the government. Emphasis is placed on how geography, natural resources, and governmental policies affects the survival of certain ethnic groups and cultures.
