Hank (Paxton), his "slow" brother Jacob (Thornton), and Jacob's best bud, alcoholic Lou (Briscoe) find the wreckage of a small plane in the snowy Minnesota woods. The pilot is dead and there's a bag filled with $4 million in cash, which they decide is drug money. The trio decide to keep quiet about the find and keep the money hidden until the plane is discovered by someone else. But having all that loot brings out the greed in everyone and soon nasty things begin to happen to all those involved. Adapted from the 1993 novel by Scott Smith.
