The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love Movie Review 1995

Gentle low-budget romantic comedy about first love between two high school girls. Tomboyish working-class Randy (Holloman) lives with her lesbian aunt and works part-time at the local gas station where she spots the rich and beautiful Evie (Parker), one of the popular girls in school. Some sparks fly but Evie's confused, though she's willing to be wooed and, later, defend her new relationship. The issue of race (Randy's white, Evie's black) is only briefly alluded to--more is made of the differences between the girls' social classes and their vulnerability. Directorial debut for Maggenti.
