In the time of Japan's civil wars, the blood of the dead soaked the ground. This blood awakens something terrible within Hikage's friend and fellow ninja, Marou. When Marou suddenly disappears, Hikage is sent to find and kill him for reasons of clan security. In "Part 1: Hikage in the Evil World," Hikage tracks his friend to a village near a waterfall where people come to commit suicide. A woman named Aya takes Hikage in, and he begins to discover strange things about the people in the village and Marou. In "Part 2: Marou with Crazy Fang," a demon horse rises from the sea. Hikage meets another girl named Aya who joins him on his continuing quest. This supernatural ninja anime features amazing fights, great animation and some surprising plot twists. Often gory and frightening, the sadness of Hikage's mission and the people he meets is well depicted as are the touching moments he shares with some of them. The stories and the characters are memorable.
