Funny comedy about grumpy old millionaire Jonathan Reynolds (Laughton) whose dying wish is to meet the young lady his son Johnny (Cummings) is to wed. Unfortunately, the bride-to-be is unavailable, so Johnny finds a replacement in hatcheck girl Anne (Durbin). Of course, Anne steals the old man's heart and he miraculously makes a full-blown recovery, which means big trouble for Johnny. Remade in 1964 as "I'd Rather Be Rich." Based on the story "Almost An Angel" by Hans Kraly.
