GodMars (Six Interlocking Mecha) Movie Review 1982

It's 1999 and aliens attack Earth. Takeru, one of Earth's defenders, learns that he is actually the alien Mars who was sent to Earth as an infant to aid in its destruction. But, his alien father was a persecuted scientist who also sent with him the key to saving the planet. As he wages his war against the cruel leader of the planet he would have called home, he learns more about his family and himself. A traditional mecha-heavy "aliens attack Earth" story that focuses on the motivations of the main characters. The title GodMars refers to a weapon, not the hero's destiny. Based on the story by Mitsuteru Yokoyama.
