Documentary that tells the story of Pham Thanh, a Vietnamese-American whose family was killed when he was 12 by a U.S. grenade during the Vietnam War. Emphasis is placed on his struggle to live in two vastly different cultures. Includes footage of his traditional Vietnamese wedding from his ancestral Vietnam village and a face-to-face encounter between Pham and a former U.S. Army officer as they share their memories of the war. Winner of numerous honors, including the American Film Festival Blue Ribbon and the National Educational Film Festival Award.
