Transnational Fiesta: 1992 Movie Review 1993

Illustrates how indigenous people in Peru are reasserting their presence and identity by exploring the multicultural and transnational experiences of a family of Peruvian Andean immigrants living in Washington, DC. Includes footage of the family returning to their native land and taking part in the annual fiesta of the village's patron saint, where the complexities of cultural identity, religious syncretism, interethnic marriages, migration, and racism all converge.
