Profiles the last survivor of the Yahi tribe of California, named Ishi by anthropologist Albert Kroeber. After 40 years in hiding, Ishi appeared in 1911 to the amazement of the world, and soon became an historical specimen filling the gaps of unanswered questions about Yahi culture.
