Reading Rainbow: Silent Lotus Movie Review 1993

Features the story of a deaf Cambodian girl named Lotus who learns to dance by following the vibrations of the music, and becomes the best dancer in the kingdom. LeVar Burton talks with other hearing people, who show how they communicate with sign language. Finally, three books are reviewed and recommended by children: "The Handmade Alphabet" by Laura Rankin, "Hand Rhymes," by Marc Brown, and "Amy: The Story of a Deaf Child" by Lou Ann Walker.
