As the theme song says, "Gigantor's a great big robot." Young Jimmy Sparks remote controls Gigantor and uses him to help the police fight crime. In "World of Danger," the evil Dr. Nefarious is planning to take over the world and he's robbing banks to finance his scheme. Then in "Badge of Danger," Defense Minister Bob Brilliant is kidnapped by what appear to be spacemen, but they're really the minions of the evil Ogablob who hopes to learn how to build his own Gigantor. Amid the stiff black and white animation it's possible to see foreshadowings of design and plot elements that become staples of anime. These are the heavily adapted and dubbed versions of episodes 10 and 11 that were broadcast in the U.S. and which retain a certain cheesy charm. Based on the story by Mitsuteru Yokoyama. This is the first volume in a retrospective five-volume collection originally created to celebrate Gigantor's 30th anniversary.
