D.W. Griffith: Father of Film Movie Review 1993

Biographical look at the pioneering American film director who elevated a novelty to an early art form. Includes rare archival footage of Griffith's days as an actor as well as an analysis of, and scenes from, some of his best-known work, including "Broken Blossoms," "Birth of a Nation," " Way Down East," and "Intolerance."
