Expanded interpretation of the Arnold Lobel story includes dimensional animation rather than Lobel's drawings. Charming story of a reading mouse who saves himself from becoming mouse soup when a not-to-intelligent weasel takes him captive. Convincing the weasel that stories are essential ingredients in any form of mouse soup, he embarks on the storytelling of four tales. Later he sends the weasel out to collect special soup ingredients named in each story (bees, a thorn bush, crickets) and escapes to the tranquility of more book reading. Complete with teacher's guide.
