Documentary filmmaker Broomfield was trying to make a behind-the-scenes look at Andre Heller's all-black German production of the musical "Body and Soul." When everything went wrong--no budget, no writer, and a cast that turned nasty--Broomfield filmed his own efforts to film the musical.
