Documentary look at the country music explosion in and around Austin and Nashville in 1975. Up close glimpse of legendary musicians once branded as "outlaws" for deviating from the country music sounds of the day, but whose rough-edged sound can be considered country music's blues and folk roots. Short vignettes feature reminiscences by Townes Van Zandt, David Allan Coe, and Guy Clark. Performances by The Charlie Daniels Band, Rodney Crowell, Steve Earl, Larry Jon Wilson, and Steve Young.
