Landmark police drama which effectively combined a large cast of characters with plots filled with humor and tragedy. Set in an urban ghetto of a large (unnamed) American city, the precinct was run by Capt. Frank Furillo (Travanti) and staffed with "let's be careful out there!" Sgt. Phil Esterhaus (Conrad), as well as a host of offbeat detectives and beat cops. The pilot epsiode introduced the characters and the characteristic mayhem. Additional episodes available.
