Beautiful and touching film that tells the true story of Sadako, a Japanese girl that was diagnosed with leukemia ten years after the bombing of Hiroshima. While she was in the hospital, her best friend told her of the Japanese legend that if she folded 1,000 paper cranes, she might be granted her wish to get well again. With extraordinary courage, Sadako began folding. Based on the contemporary classic by Eleanor Coerr, this story of personal faith is lovingly narrated by Liv Ullman. Highly recommended.
