Opening Night Movie Review 1977

Very long study about an actress (Rowlands) and the play she's about to open in on Broadway. Backstage turmoil increases her own insecurities and the bad luck persists when an adoring fan is struck by a car while the play is in try-outs in New Haven. Performances carry this neurotic epic along, including Cassavettes as Rowland's co-star and Blondell as the playwright.
