Witty, sweet romantic comedy explores the differences between men and women when it comes to love and romance. When widower Sam Bladwin (Hanks) talks about his wife on a national talk show, recently engaged Annie Reed (Ryan) responds. Writer/director Ephron's humorous screenplay is brought to life by a perfectly cast ensemble; it also breathed new life into the classic weepie "An Affair to Remember," comparing it to "The Dirty Dozen" in an unforgettable scene. A movie full of fine detail, from Sven Nykvist's camera work to the graphic layout of the opening credits to the great score. Captured millions at the boxoffice, coming in as the fourth highest grossing movie of 1993.
