Three short films exploring the contraditions and emotions of American life. "Trick Bag" finds gang members, Vietnam vets, and factory workers from Chicago neighborhoods discussing their personal experiences with racism. "Who the Fuck are These Red Squares?" documents a "teach-in" at the Art Institute of Chicago as students protest the invasion of Cambodia and the killing of students at Kent State and Jackson State. "Hum 255" shows strking students at the University of Chicago occupying the Administration Building in 1968. Two years later two of the expelled students return to confront current students about social and moral values.
