Japanese-American Women: A Sense of Place Movie Review 1992

Director Rosanna Yamagiwa Alfaro interviews 12 Japanese American women about their diverse experiences growing up in the United States, finding that the women who lived on the East Coast grew up more isolated from the Japanese culture than the women who grew up in Japanese communities on the West Coast. Alfaro skillfully weaves these portraits into the discussion which compares and contrasts race and culture.
