Five years after Japan was destroyed, scientists are studying Godzilla's cells. Desparate spies, who apparently can't find their own Godzilla cells on all the ruined buildings, relaease Godzilla from his volcanic prison. When one scientist's attempt to create a super-plant goes awry and creates the behemoth Biollante, the monsters go at it in a giant territorial rumble. Japan (or a really small model thereof) is once again underfoot. Sequel to "Godzilla 1985."
