In 1497 Portuguese Jews were forced to accept conversion. Called "Marranos" by their Christian neighbors, they continued to practice their religion in secret. This documentary includes interviews with surviving members of the Marranos community in the village of Belmonte, where religious ceremonies are still conducted behind closed doors. In Portuguese with English subtitles.
