The Girona: Mother of Israel, Jews of Catalonia Movie Review 1991

Recalls the daily life and expulsion of the Jews from Catalonia (a region in northeast Spain) and the city of Girona. The city has been called "The Mother of Israel" as one of the sites considered spiritual resting places for the wandering Jew as well as the home of the Kabbalah, the school of Jewish mysticism. Combines footage of the Jewish quarter as it appears today with historical references.
