Utilizes interviews, archival photographs, and film clips to describe the flourishing Yiddish film production in Eastern Europe and the United States between the two world wars. The film also explains the decline of the cinema and the language because of the Holocaust's decimation of European Jewry, the Stalinist suppression of the culture, and the demands for assimilation in the new world.
