Breaking Home Ties Movie Review 1987

Norman Rockwell's illustration is the basis for this coming-of-age story set in a small Texas town. A young man is eager to be off to college and lessen his family ties but his mother's serious illness may prevent both. Good performances help overcome the sentimentality.
