Tampopo Movie Review 1986

A hilarious, episodic Japanese comedy. Young restaurant hostess Tampopo (Miyamoto) is coached by 10 gallon-hatted stranger Goro (Yamazaki) in how to make the perfect noodle so she can open her own successful shop. There's also a food-loving gangster (Yakusho) who serves as an occasional narrator and gourmet. Popular, free-form hit that established Itami in the West. Japanese with subtitles.
