Dashing (but alas, illegitimate) nobleman roams Europe on futile, "Roots"-like search, then settles for America during the Revolutionary War in this long-winded TV adaptation of John Jakes's equally cumbersome bestseller (part of his popular Bicentennial series). Stevens stars, along with many supporting performers merely keeping active. Followed by "The Rebels" and "The Seekers."
